- Trucks
It’s easy to find clothing with trucks designed for little children, however, once you are more than 6 years old, your options become severely limited. A few years ago, I was having dinner and I saw small child with shirt that had a dumptruck printed on it, and underneath, the word “dumptruck”. Obviously, I was extremely jealous. After years of waiting for someone to provide me with adult sized truck shirts, I took matters into my own hands, and Maybe it’s a Truck was born.
- Name
When I was a child, like most small children, I enjoyed having the same book read to me again and again. One such book was a little picture book about a child receiving a bicycle for his birthday. It was entitled something like “Mike’s New Bike”, and as the story wound to a close Mike had one enormous package left to open. Every evening, before turning the page, my dad would ask me: “What do you think is in the box?” And every evening, I would reply hopefully: “Maybe it’s a Truck.”
- Shirts
We use shirts from A.S. Tees. These shirts are made in the U.S. by union workers. They are slightly more fitted than shirts from Gildan, or Fruit of the Loom. Their fit is much closer to American Apparel. So, why didn’t we go with American Apparel shirts? One reason is their questionable union practices. Another is their advertising, it’s huge, it’s a little off-color, and its legitimacy is not helped by its CEO. But in the end, what really made the case for A.S. Tees is that they’re more comfortable than American Apparel. These shirts are damn soft!
